LOVE: Invictus

Invictus is de mooiste en meest indrukwekkende film die ik ooit gezien heb. De film gaat over Zuid-Afrika wanneer Nelson Mandela na 27 jaar gevangenschap gekozen wordt tot president. Nelson Mandela weigert wraak te nemen, hij vergeeft zijn onderdrukkers en gaat op zoek naar nationale eenheid. Dit doet hij op een onverwachte manier, via Rugby.

Het is een prachtig verhaal over Zuid-Afrika, Nelson Mandela maar voornamelijk over de kracht van vergiffenis. Deze film heeft ontzettend veel indruk op mij gemaakt en raad ik iedereen dan ook aan om te kijken. Dit prachtige gedicht wat voor wordt gedragen in de film, heb ik sinds de eerste keer dat ik de film zag in mijn telefoon staan en lees ik wanneer ik het even nodig heb.

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
